Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) or Foam roofing is a material that is commonly sprayed on the roof as a liquid which then expands into a foam and creates a solid layer on top of the existing roof.
This type of roofing can have issues if water gets trapped in the previous substrate and the topcoat is not re-coated when needed. It will allow water to penetrate and be absorbed into the foam which can lead to leaking and water damage.
